THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The Executive Committee (EC) shall be the governing body of the Branch and shall transact all business of the Student Branch. This includes decisions related to direction, recruitment, member benefits, event organizations, communication with IEEE, expenditures, proposals, member discipline and administrative duties related to the Student Branch.

The Executive Committee consists of elected officials who are members of good standing of the Student Branch, and the EC consists of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer.

ELIGIBILITY FOR CANDIDATES OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

A candidate for any of the Executive positions must be a member of good standing of the Student Branch.

The term of office shall ordinarily be one year.

A candidate cannot hold an office consecutively for more than 2 terms.

STUDENT BRANCH COUNSELOR

A Student Branch Counselor who is an IEEE member and a faculty member of GPREC, teaching in an IEEE designated field is to be appointed by the Principal.

The appointment or reappointment shall normally be for two years.

Each Branch Counselor is charged with promoting the welfare of the IEEE at the institution, particularly in matters relating to Student activities.

The Chairman: Shall preside at all meetings of the Branch. He/She shall appoint all committees, subject to the approval of the Executive Committee, and shall assume all other executive duties not otherwise delegated.

The Vice Chairman:

Shall perform all functions of the Chairman in his/her absence or at his/her request.

The Secretary:

Shall keep a record of all activities of the Branch and shall report same to IEEE Headquarters through Branch Counselor.

Shall prepare the minutes of each meeting and deliver the minutes to the anticipated attendees and others who need to be informed, within 5 days of the meeting.

Shall keep a record of the names and IEEE membership numbers of all members.

At the end of each year, the Secretary shall prepare all documents required and deliver it to Branch Counselor.

The Treasurer:

Shall keep all financial records current and in order.

Shall provide a financial statement at the last EC meeting of each month.

Shall submit a complete annual report at the end of the financial year, to the EC.

Shall prepare all financial documents required for annual reports to be submit, upon certification by the Counselor.
